The Empty Seat

Today I went to the cinema to see the third installment of the movie “The Justicier”. One of the favorite action series of the person who instilled in me the love of cinema since I was a little child. But to whom, unfortunately, the flame of life was extinguished too soon. My mother.

Today I went to the cinema to see that movie for me and for her, as we did with the previous two. With all the excitement she had after seeing the trailer, full of eagerness to complete the story, but unfortunately the movie of her life ended early.

Today I sat in the movie theater and looked at the empty seat next to me, remembering her sitting next to me. When the lights dimmed and the projector started working, imbued with the magic of cinema, I could feel her watching the movie with me. And for a moment, filling the void left by his departure.

And when the end came and the credits rolled, I waited for the lights to dissipate the magical darkness so I could turn to her, as I always did, to ask if she liked it. Hoping to find her sitting next to me and telling me “I loved it” with a wide smile.

Today I went to the cinema to see the movie that my mother wanted to see, but never could. And even as his seat next to me will remain empty, his place in my heart will be forever occupied.
