And there I was standing, surrounded by a crowd but feeling alone. Unable to see my soul reflected in anyone's eyes. Except a pair of eyes. The eyes that turned away from me.
Have you ever wanted something with all your heart only to find that life conspires to keep it out of reach? Of course it has happened to you. We all know the feeling of being a hamster running through the glass-walled maze we romantically call free will. Life presents you with a handful of prizes, but you reject them, longing only for the one behind the glass. The unattainable The one that was denied you. You can scream, curse and kick, but it doesn't change anything. Your sighs fog the glass, witnessing someone else effortlessly taking what was sacred to you.
What did I want?
One Love.
The kind of love whose eyes confess that you are the only person in existence. A love that would stop the world from spending eternity at your side and with every gesture it would show you unimaginable meanings.
But my hopes were simply the conception of illusions that faded into disappointments.
A cruel lesson. But a lesson at the end of the day.
A heart that rushes with desire will always stumble and fall to the ground, broken more often than not. And after gluing it, again our heart will race and fall again and again until we understand that we were never conceived to be a whole, but pieces of a puzzle.
Because putting together countless pieces of a broken heart can make it big enough to fit all the love in the world inside it.
